New York City offers a virtual treasure chest of fun things to do for teenagers. This age group is generally the most difficult to please and appease while vacationing. They are too old for the kid stuff and too young to appreciate some of the more grown up entertainment and of course, they dont want to look like theyre having too much fun. From amusement parks to cyber cafes, from bookstores to malls and video arcades, to sporting events and sporting complexes New York City is a city that was almost made for teens to enjoy.
The trick to enjoying your New York City vacation while ensuring that your teen enjoys his or her time in the city is compromise. Agree to go watch the skateboarding in the park if he or she will suffer through a museum with you. You just might find that you each find something to enjoy about the others activities. There are so many wonderful things to do and see in New York. You dont have to pay a lot of money in order to have a good time as many of these wonderful events are offered free or for very little cost. You can also purchase passes that allow free entrance to certain city attractions for one low fee. You will find that of the freebie offerings there is usually something that will appeal to various members of your family including your teens.
Compromise is a good idea on any vacation with friends or family and it teaches your teens an important lesson-their opinion matters to you. They also learn to compromise, to share time and experiences, and to think critically. They are forced to weight all the things they would like to do and select the things that matter most to them to do. This is a very good thing for people to learn as early as possible and will be an invaluable lesson, as they grow older and eventually begin making their own decisions in life as well. I even try to offer the younger children a voice in whats going on. I offer age appropriate choices and allow them to select the one that matters most to them.
Teens are often very hard to please or predict and their wants can change between the time it takes to open a pack of pop tarts and the time it takes to actually drop them in the toaster. Be aware of this when making plans with teens and go with the flow. You do not have to let your teen rule your vacation but by allowing him or her a voice in the decision making process you might all learn some important and interesting things about each other.
Girl teens are often easily distracted by shopping-while New York City has some of the trendiest boutiques you may want to see if you can talk her into some of them any consignment or secondhand stores that abound. You can call it vintage clothing if you must in order to get her in the doors but you can score some awesome deals on clothes that look barely worn if that and shell have some nice additions to her wardrobe for a fraction of their costs if new. There are also some wonderful outlet malls in NYC as well. The trick with shopping any of these stores is to know the prices of things. Some things are excellent bargains while others are not so much.
Teen boys will have a grand time at places such as Game Time Nation where they can play video games for endless hours. You can even try playing games together if youre brave enough. Fair warning offered here, teens are brutal in their victories and you will never live down your failures in the video game arena with them so study up before hand.
The most important thing to remember about vacationing with your teen is that youd like them to have some fond memories of your time together, even during their teen years. Take care that you are including them in your plans rather than making their plans for them. It is time they are let into the decision making process to some degree even if its allowing either or options or asking them to list a few things theyd like to do and you selecting from those. If youre having fun it is quite likely that they will eventually join in.

I was recently reading through a bunch of TV converter box reviews and found out that there are a lot of converter boxes out there that are lacking analog pass-through. Analog pass-through is very important because without it you will lose all lower power stations that arent required to make the transition. When companies first came out with converter boxes almost none of them had the analog pass feature. If you are looking to get a TV converter box I suggest that you choose one carefully and make sure yours has analog pass-through. By now almost all companies have come out with update versions to include it but there are still older models on the market that havent been cleared out yet. When you get your converter box double check and make sure you are getting a new model that has the pass-through function.

I have been both a buyer and a seller on EBay for some time now and I love it, I mean where else could you find a range of goods from a bag of unused plastic smarty lids from a guy who used to work in the Nestle factory to top quality designer clothing and shoes from Italy? There is still a myth which surrounds EBay that say`s if you want something you will find it cheaper on EBay, this is just not true in all occasions. Although there are undoubtedly loads of bargains to be had you can quite often be taken in by the whole experience and find that once you add postage and packing to your orders they can indeed be found cheaper other places.
EBay is simple to use and very quick and easy to join although a PayPal account is almost a must but again Paypal is also easy to sign up to and once you have your PayPal buying and selling becomes very easy on EBay and about as secure as you can get also. I have used EBay for a large variety of things including designer shoes, an Italian football top for an ex, second hand books for college during my time there and many other things beside. I have never had a problem with anything I have bid for on EBay and my best friends boyfriend has recently just bought a car from a seller on EBay again without issue. I know some people do have horror stories to tell about EBay experiences but I firmly believe if you are careful you will have a good experience on the site.
The site and it`s search engine are very reliable and I have never went to EBay and found the site to be down or running particularly slow which is a good achievement for a site of its size with so many users. Have a browse and prepare to be surprise at what you find!
I have left some auction prices below for KN 33 2332 Replacement Air Filter and other items you may be interested in.

World of Warcraft Guides
For the dedicated game player there are many World of Warcraft guides which they can use to help in the game play. These can be found in many places although some of the best World of Warcraft guides are to be found in the World of Warcraft Allakhazam site and the World of Warcraft Vault. These two websites contain pretty good World of Warcraft guides and you will find that they are very informative as well. These two sites aside you will also find that you have a staggering number of other websites to choose from if youre interested in finding World of Warcraft guides. Its just a simple matter of doing a quick search on the internet for World of Warcraft guides and choosing a few which look promising. You can even continue to do this until you find the sites which satisfy your World of Warcraft needs. A guide is also what is called a walkthrough and to find more on the subject all you need to do is to do a search for this as you would for World of Warcraft guides. They will ultimately yield up the same or similar results. World of Warcraft guides are good in that they can help you find your way through the many quests, lands and towns of Warcraft without putting you to too much trouble. These are not in the way of cheats or exploits as they only help you through the various parts of the game. They are in effect, detailed descriptions of how to get through certain portions of World of Warcraft, and they have been compiled by other gamers such as yourself. You will find World of Warcraft guides for just about everything that you can think of, with the most popular being that of how to get gold. If you look, just about everywhere you will find that there are references to obtaining gold. With the World of Warcraft guides however, you can go about these in a legitimate manner without having to resort to hacks and cheats. World of Warcraft guides can also help you to level up faster as you can by taking advantage of the other gamers experience and knowledge of the World of Warcraft. If you spend even just a little time away from the game and pay attention to some of the World of Warcraft guides you will find that you can progress far easier through your quests than if you went into them ignorant of what lay ahead of you. Then again, that is part of the fun, being able to explore the game on your own.

With our economy in crisis, the US Government is scrambling to rescue our banks by purchasing their "distressed assets", i.e., assets that no one else wants to buy from them. We figured that instead of protesting this plan, we'd give regular Americans the same opportunity to sell their bad assets to the government. We need your help and you need the Government's help! Use the form below to submit bad assets you'd like the government to take off your hands. And remember, when estimating the value of your 1997 limited edition Hanson single CD "MMMbop", it's not what you can sell these items for that matters, it's what you think they are worth. The fact that you think they are worth more than anyone will buy them for is what makes them bad assets.

The Cubs finished the season with a 97-64 record as they got beat by the Brewers 3-1 today. Say what you want about how the Brewers have used Sabathia, but that guy stepped up for the Brewers in a big way. He threw a complete game and didnt allow an earned run on only 4 hits. He did throw 122 pitches though. Questionable for sure, but getting into the playoffs is what its about and the Mets are down 4-2 to the Marlins so it appears the Brewers will win the Wild Card. That means the Cubs will play the Dodgers on Wednesday at 4:00 or 5:30 pm on TBS.. The pitchers will be Derek Lowe and Ryan Dempster. END of post.

The Truth About Bailouts:
As a staunch supporter of free markets, the thought of a bailout makes me nervous. Many smart people made smart bets and didn’t over leverage themselves. So why should we be liable for others, who went nuts and borrowed themselves into the ground. This, of course, is a tragedy for some and an incredible opportunity for others. While your retail purchases, perhaps your primary residence, may have taken a 10 – 15% dip in value, chances are your foreclosure purchases are still excellent sources of wealth, with ample equity. Those of us who purchased homes 50 – 70 cents on the dollar are still in a great position. The flooded rental market has likely also helped you with better quality and higher paying tenants. In short, most savvy investors are still in great shape. So what will the bailout do for (to) us?
In the short term, a bailout represents more liquidity for financial markets. For those of you who’ve recently been told that you no longer qualify for credit, this is a direct reflection of tightening credit markets. Banks are being extremely cautious. They are increasing their debt service coverage ratios, they are increasing their vacancy factors in their analysis of you, all the while, they are lowering LTV’s. All this leads to less available credit for investors, which is a mess and it does affect our business. It affects my investors and it’s obviously not optimal for any real estate finance. In the face of this, I have requested and received an increase in my line of credit of $600,000, which now totals $1.6M. This will allow me to fund additional deals for investors who may qualify for end financing, however without a lease in place, they fall short of a commercial approval. This comes at a personal cost to me and my business, but was a necessary move. In addition, the new Fannie/Freddie guidelines have limited investors to 4 properties from 10. This is a huge decrease. Those of you who have 4 homes or more, will no longer be cashing out in the secondary market. I fall into this category as well. With close scrutiny of the markets and constant communication with banks, we foresaw this. We were able to increase my line of credit and move to an 80% as completed commercial loan product in order to limit the need for cash out refinances. This product is UNLIMITED in terms of the number of projects you can buy, as long as you qualify based on credit, cash flow and income.
Both of these solutions became available with incredible timing. You may be thinking that I love this bailout, as it will likely loosen the purse strings with the banks and credit will be more readily available. In one sense I do, as my investors will get reasonable credit again. There is however a down side to this. The $700 Billion comes from us, the taxpayer. While I’m for (and in need of) increased liquidity, I’m fundamentally and incredibly opposed to taxation. Taxation can cripple the economy further and bring us from a limp to a crawl. We need tax relief, not increased taxation. A tax on large corporations will undoubtedly hit you, me and everyone else in the country. There is no tax that does not take money out of private hands and into the government. Government can call it what they want but taxing anyone, even the oil companies, will hurt us. The thought that these companies take the hit without passing it on to us is sophomoric. In addition, the terms of the bailout are vague, to say the least. We need much more control over what these funds are used for and how they are used.
Newt Gingrich was on Fox and basically trashed the structure of the bailout. I tend to agree with what Newt says, as he’s both pragmatic and bright. Neal Covuto was on the same program and mentioned 2 times where bailouts have been profitable for tax payers in previous crisis situations. I see where this could be a long term win for the taxpayer if the government were to structure and manage this bailout properly. There, my friends, is the problem. Ever been to the DMV? How about the post office? Government couldn’t successfully work a toaster, let alone a $700 Billion dollar bailout. Let’s face it, this is a tough one.
Do we let the economy fall apart, or do we quickly solve the crisis with a huge bailout? I believe that the laissez faire approach is the best, however we live in a big government world, so chances are, libertarian ideals are never going to come to fruition, although I respect and agree with their passion for a free market. Something is needed for sure. I could argue that bad businesses deserve to die (ala the George W. national address), but if their death starts to carry over into your world, you may be torn as I am. I am not thrilled with the concept of a bailout, but I need it for some of my clients. The sad thing however, is that when government is in charge you can be sure that there will be a down side. The free market approach, in this situation, could ultimately lead to a bank run and mass panic. There’s just something that stinks about the urgency of this bill and how they plan to solve this in a weekend. The element that stinks to me is that the Fed (owner, printer and controller of the money supply) will have increased power over us. That’s just plain scary, especially if you believe the Fed was a huge contributing factor in this by jacking up rates 16 sessions in a row. Can you say overkill?
Right now, I am buying homes that provide tremendous equity and cash flow. Most investors can still get money and they are doing the same, however the denials are stacking up and the bank’s credit criteria is not getting looser. The problem in my opinion, is that the pendulum has swung and it’s swung too far. This is not the immediate fault of the banks. Remember the FDIC insurance tag that you see at your banks? This insurance comes at a cost. The banks are being scrutinized by regulators. Regulators come in and review the loans of the banks. They review concentrations, appraisals, valuations, insurance and many more components. In order to insure your deposits, these banks need make sure the loans that are on the books are not “risky”. loans can lead to default, which leads to less of your money. Bad loans, can lead to liquidity issues for banks and ultimately insolvency. Banks become insolvent and your money is gone. These bank runs from the depression era were attributing causes to the formation of the Federal Reserve Bank. The catch of course, is that the Federal Reserve Bank has quite a large amount of control, yet it is not quite a governmental institution. The Fed lends money to the banks, government and ultimately us. Every dollar you have is a borrowed dollar. This is a core reason that I am vigilant with leveraging “appreciating” assets. Remember, houses don’t go up in value, dollars go down. Accumulating cash will not solve your problem, however assets that tend to keep up with inflation (houses) can curb the ever deflating dollar and create the stabilization of your financial wealth. If you have stock, you’re down big. If you have cash, you’re down big. If you have homes, you may be down from retail values, but if you buy foreclosures, you’re likely still up big. Your cash flow is likely up big too.
Last weekend I was with some investors who were discussing what amount of cash would allow you to live in this world without actually working. I’m not saying here that you’re yachting or at the country club, but you’re comfortable and eating. Your number can vary quite a bit, but the number I hear often is $3M.
$3,000,000 @ 3.5% in a bank is $105,000. No worries right? Remember, you’re only insured to $100,000.
$3,000,000 @ 5% in bonds is $150,000. Very limited worries right? What about market swings and corporate insolvency? Mortgage back securities were triple a rated, now the only buyer is the government (us).
Invest $3,000,000 in small single family homes, priced at $80,000 each, that rent for $1,200/mo. This would allow you to purchase 37.5 homes. Assume you pay $300/mo in real estate tax and insurance. This will yield you $405,000. Insurance Companies will insure $3M in real estate.
My point was, if you have half a brain and just a little drive, you can create the same returns with half the money. I’ll take bricks mortar over cash, bonds, crooked ceo’s or the government anytime. I’m not exactly a conspiracy theorist, but it seems odd that the Fed is garnering even more power, with a swift move, in a time of crisis. If the Fed was created to control the money supply, curb inflation and stop crisis, then why are we, in 2008, faced with a such a national and global crisis? It could be that the Fed is overrated. It could be that the Fed overshot by raising rates 16 times in a row. Nobody was more outspoken about rates being artificially high than I was, I had quite a bit of my portfolio floating with Prime. Remember the inverted yield curve? How we got here is important, the liquidity is needed, and we must ensure that politicians are taken to task. I keep hearing that this bailout will cost $7,000 per taxpayer. In the same broadcast, I hear someone else say that it’s possible that the government and taxpayers make money on this deal. After all, 92% of people are current on their mortgage, so why are these mortgage backed securities worthless? The answer, is that something is worth what you can get for it. This reminds me of my dad telling me that the Becket stating my Ryne Sandberg rookie card was worth $49 may not mean I can actually get that price. I was devastated! I bought the card for $7 at a flea market, and to a 9 year old kid, I was loaded and impressed with myself. Baseball cards, homes and mortgage backed securities are all the same, you get what someone is willing to pay. Timing the purchase and sale is often more important than how or even what you buy. The intrinsic value of these securities is supposedly much higher than we’re paying, which I like. I’ve heard several of my friends who are investment bankers say that someone is going to make a lot of money out of this mess. I agree. It’s time to BUY. Ever heard of buy low, sell high? This is what they are talking about. The fact that the government is managing the process, well that’s a gamble.

In a word,
Caught off guard to say the least: Quarterback McCain, wearing throwback jersey number 72 faced fourth and 21 with the clock ticking down. His team was getting creamed by the other side and their younger, fresher, stronger Quarterback Obama. So McCain in desperation went for the Hail Mary Sarah. He called a trick play. Pulled a moose, er, rabbit out of his hat named Sarah (no last name required for this celebrity) to be his running back VEEP. The right wing of the bleachers and the media went wild! The Obama team began wandering around with dazed looks. Huh? Who? What just happened? What just hit us? Werent WE the team with a too young barely qualified candidate? Werent WE just getting bashed by our opponents because our guy was a celebrity who drew huge crowds? Where are we? The trainers rushed onto the field and asked the stunned defense, Can you spell juxtaposition?
Trick play worked. Strategy becomes to get their eye off the ball: Quarterback McCain did his job. Now it is up to the Pachyderm coaches to continue to outfox the Burro coaches and the sportswriters and broadcasters. The coaches send in a series of Is there an elephant in the room deception plays: They ask Were there NCAA infractions that Sarah committed while still in college? Did she wrongfully push to have her ex-brother-in law fired? Was she really against the "Bridge to Nowhere?" Did she sell Alaska's plane on eBay, or just list it on eBay? Did she have any real duties commanding the Alaska National Guard?
Oh, and dont forget to accuse the sportswriters and broadcasters of picking on us that one always works. Lets accuse them of being flaks for the Burros. Once nobody is looking at the ball we can sneak it up a few more yards. The writers and media took the bait and began to focus on the new running back as the partisan crowd chanted, Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. This election isnt about issues: The quote by an official in the Pachyderm front office said it and the comment sailed right over the heads of the media just like the passes the old white men had been tossing back and forth before the Northern Lights shone on the team. In regards to the questions the team put out about their new running back, who cares? The previously moribund fans that came to town to watch her strut her stuff along the sidelines are simply at the game for the refreshments. They dont really care if the players on the field are academically eligible, morally correct, are under indictment or have a criminal record. The Pachyderm front office knows this from years in the business and has brought their new star to the playing field to distract the country from the havoc that their aging goofy coach George Bush and his band of liars, warmongers, sleezeballs and convicted felons. That team has wreaked havoc during the past eight years and it is their plays and policies Quarterback McCain is committed to continue.
Every play that is called, every distraction that the media dwells and dotes upon (such as lipstick on the mascot of the University of Arkansas) takes up time not spent talking about the Elephant teams record. Each one of those ball hiding events is a mini victory for the team and gets Quarterback McCain one step closer to winning the Homecoming Game.
New running backs short term achievements: The Donkeys are braying that Sarah hasn't earned her degree and is therefore not qualified to play in the big game. They say that the only 3:00 a.m. call she had to respond to was when a moose upset a neighborhood garbage can. The truth is quite the opposite. In the week since shes pulled on her pads and jersey the mother of all upset efforts has distracted the Left, the Right, the Centrists, the Independents and her five dependents from the horrible state of affairs that our country wallows in as the result of the Bush debacle . Quarterback McCain has run his head coachs offensive plays as designed by the Bushman of Texas 95% of the time. The rookie has succeeded in deflecting and deceptions beyond the wildest expectations of even the most far right corporate executive.
From the Outhouse to the Penthouse and maybe the Whitehouse: Two weeks ago Quarterback McCain was in worse shape in Washington than Bret Favre was in Green Bay. Head Coach Bush has an 0-11 disastrous record, and the fans were yelling for change. The rival team, headed by All American Quarterback Obama had built their game plan around change. Quarterback McCain had not only run his head coachs plays 95% of the time over the past eight years, he plans to continue policy from the old playbook for another four or eight years. The team has been in desperate need of a new fresh face to repackage the old playbook and make the fans think it is new. So they take a picture of their opponents playbook slogan and paste it over their own. Now their playbook says and on the front cover is a fresh new face. Bingo! Thats all it takes to fool the fans!
The plan works to a tee on kickoff. There is nothing in the fans program about the highest unemployment rate in a decade or the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bailout or the 4,000+ dead American soldiers and the maltreatment of their wounded comrades who return home maimed, or the trillion dollar debt or the mortgage crisis, or the burgeoning debt to China or the ongoing lies that got us into and the debacle in Iraq or global warming or prisoner torture or Blackwater guards in Iraq who earn $ 1200 per day while U.S. Marines earn breadcrumbs, or corruption among Whitehouse staffers or any other issues. High Elephant Rick Davis might become prophetic with his now-notorious comment, This campaign is not about issues but personalities.
Pray tell, what is in the new program: Lets see, we can list Sarahs accomplishments as mayor, whether she was or was not a good mother, whether her skirts are too short and her zingers too sarcastic. The fans like that sort of stuff. There has been a run on her style of glasses. But the new running back is not running for the presidency. That office is being sought by Quarterback McCain. Problem is, he is carrying the weight of his loyal but inept coaches on his shoulders. His playbook has a new cover but its contents are the same old tripe with the same old plays that have been run unsuccessfully for the past eight years. Yet all the fans sitting on the right side of the stadium continue with their deafening cheers as the writers and other media get caught up in the hoopla. If the home team wins again it will likely subject our country to another four years of destruction down to the very fiber.
Game plan for underdog Quarterback Obama: There have been more than enough references to animals by the media the past few days, but one more is in order the underdog. Quarterback Barak cannot afford to hand off the ball to the media as his rival has done. He needs to focus his attention on the real opposition -- the issues that will decide the future of this country. His handling of the pig with lipstick comment was a good start. He, his coaches, his surrogates, and his supporters including the former president and first lady must take every opportunity to turn the love-struck media focus away from the issues of minutia, such as whether or not the new player on the other team threatened to fire the librarian or Troopergate, or any of the other red herrings designed to keep the eyes of the public off the game ball. Quarterback Obama and his team needs to take control of the game, ignore the out-of-bounds plays, and hammer away at the real issues. And the Clintons need to do their part to earn that $ 21 million theyre asking from Barrack to pay off their debts. When the final seconds tick off in November, the team that is ahead will lead the country for at least the next four years assuming no hanging chads.

The god who made Kerala, according to a popular Malayali saying, had a green thumb. Indeed, India's most verdant state rated by National Geographic Traveler as one of the world's 50 must-see destinations is a paradisiacal landscape of palm-lined beaches, steamy jungles, plantation-covered hills, and tropical rivers and lakes. Visitors come here primarily to unwind and indulge; this is, after all, where succumbing to a therapeutic Ayurvedic massage is as mandatory as idling away an afternoon aboard a slowly drifting kettuvallam, or sipping coconut water under a tropical sun before taking in a wonderfully ritualized Kath kali dance.

Fiat has reached an agreement with Lotus Sports Cars to develop its own version of the next generation Lotus Elise due in 2010. The Fiat model, to go on sale the following year, would provide the Italian brand with an affordable yet exciting rear wheel drive roadster. Whilst the agreement with Lotus has been speculated for many months now, it was previously thought that Fiat would badge the car under the Abarth brand. Now, according to Car magazine, the CEO of Fiat, Lorenzo Sistino is saying it would be brilliant if we could bring back the Dino badge.
Fans of the Elise may remember that back in 2000, Lotus did a similar arrangement with Opel/Vauxhall, helping to create the VX220. When launched many motoring journalists even gave it the nod over the than Series 1 Elise.

Scott Lewis
Lewis, a 6 lefty, was drafted in 2004 by the Cleveland Indians out of Ohio State. After spending three years in single A ball, Lewis spent most of 2008 split between the AA Akron affiliate and the AAA Buffalo affiliate. In four starts at the AAA level this year, he garnered two wins with a 2.63 ERA, and 21 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched.
He was called up to the bigs on September 10th to start against the Orioles, and got the win with a nice outing, pitching eight innings with 0 earned runs and 3 Ks. He followed that performance up on the 15th with another win, this time over Baltimore, again giving up no runs, with 5 Ks in 6 innings pitched.
While the Tribe may not make the playoffs this year, look for Lewis to be a key contributor in their rotation in 2009.
2007 Bowman Chrome X-Fractor
Chrome X-Fractors are always nice cards, in my opinion, and this one is no different. A card that can be had for several bucks, its a nice addition to any collection, not to mention a prospectors.

For those of you still with me, I have the following random thoughts tonight:
1. Today's game was the coolest comeback for the Cubs I've seen in a long time. Very exciting. I ended up ditching Nancy Sophie and eating dinner on the porch so that I could listen to the end of the game on my XM radio. With Nancy's permission, of course... Anyway, that win was huge for the Cubs, but it was even bigger for the Brewers. I don't think that is the kind of loss a team can rebound from at this point in the season, especially with everything going on in their clubhouse. I think you can hand the Wild Card to the east at this point.
2. I have been thinking long and hard about this lately, so please bear with a little rambling. Baseball is the ultimate long form game. The games themselves are long, the season is played in series form, and the seasons are 162 games long. That's a LOT of games. That is why baseball people are such geeks about statistics. Statistics are really only meaningful if the sample size is sufficiently large, and baseball, more than any other sport, certainly provides that. So, what's my point? My point is that the regular season is the truest indicator or how teams stack up with one another. Therefore, the playoffs, while obviously important, are of limited value to determine who the best team is. I mean, how many times during the season do even the very best teams lose 3 out of 5 or 4 out of 7 games? A lot! For example, let's use the 1998 Yankees, a team that won 114 games, a then American League record, and is generally considered the best modern baseball team. There were 21 seven games stretches where they lost 4 of those games. This is possibly the best team ever, but they just as easily could have gone out in the first round of the playoffs based on what they did in the regular season! For comparison, the 1996 Chicago Bulls, considered by many to be the best modern basketball team, did not lose 3 out of 5 OR 4 out of 7 games even one time during their entire season. For another baseball example, see the 2001 Mariners, who won 116 games but got routined in the ALCS by the Yankees.
So how does this matter? It matters because it changes our perspective on what the postseason actually means. To me, the postseason is a celebration of the fact that your team had a great season. We really shouldn't put that much emphasis on the postseason. Yes, we determine the champion that way, but baseball excellence really can't be measured over such a short period of time. So, while the playoffs definitely matter, they kind of don't matter.
With that said, in about two weeks I am going to be absolutely freaking out about the playoffs. The Terms of Service of this blog specifically say that you are not allowed to bring this topic up or throw it in my face at all. To repeat, I am rational now, but will be anything but starting October 1.
