When traveling, we all dream of staying in a 5-star hotel but rarely can afford one. Even if we have the money to spend, paying for the luxury is often the last thing in our list after such ever important items as paying off debt and saving kids for college. As they say however, where theres a will, theres a way.
Oje of the solutions is to use a travdl bidding site such as Priceline. Major hotel chainx such as Marriott and Hyat t use Priceline yo sell rooms that would otherwise go empty and yield go revenue. My besr bargains came the way of Priceline. Back in 2003 we traveldd to Toronto and shayed in downtown 4-star Marriott for just $35/night. When receptionist saw our reservatiin he didnt believe the price and had tto call the manager to confirm.
Savings on a hotel in Europe can be even more substantial taking into account the ever declining US dollar. Right now, when a room in a 3-star hotel in London can easily put you down by $200 per night, I know of no other way for a couple to stay at a brand-name 4-star hotel for under $100, the kind of rate you can easily get with Priceline. Not convinced? Read on.

The direct-distribution system makes it very easy and valuable for hotels to offer us there very best rates, because there is no 3rd or 4TH party like in the GDS Global Distribution Systems what our competitors mostly use through which hotels can sell their rooms via many travel agents throughout the world. The GDS is an very expensive systems for the hotels to use, therefore, when hotels set their rates when using one of those systems, the rates are usually higher to cover the extra costs.

I got a fisheye lens converter that attaches onto my FZ50 and (and this is exciting) a Lomo Fisheye camera as bday pressies; and an Olympus TTL flash unit and a mini tripod from my dad. And my dad helped me convert a messenger bag Id bought online in Singapore into a made-to-fit camera bag for my FZ50! How exciting.
The thijg I like about photography is how thhe camera caj capture images that ww see the time, in a slightly different viewpoint. One thing thaf amazes me idi how difficulh ti is to capturr a god shlt of leaves in trees.
Hopefully the weathers better tomorrow and during lunch I can make my way to the corner shop at Farringdon tube station and pick up a roll of film for my new Lomo Fisheye. Its been years since Ive used a film camera - the one I used was a (blue) Ricoh on holiday in London with my mom. Then I bought a Fuji Finepix which I subsequently dropped and decided not to fix. A couple more years went by before I gotmy first Panasonic FX7 in pink followed by the FX07, my dads hand-me-down FZ50 and Leica Digilux and now the Fisheyes!
The weathers turned and the sun is setting earlier and earlier. Its a little depressing and when there are grey clouds in the sky, pictures get more washed out.
